Sally Bowman, MEd, RDN, CSSD, LDN is a graduate of the University of Texas. Sally completed the Coordinated Undergraduate Program in Dietetics in 1985 and her Master’s degree in Health Promotion and Fitness in 1989.
Sally has practiced as a dietitian in a variety of settings such as spas, fitness clubs/wellness centers, colleges and private practice. She served as a consulting sports dietitian for the athletics department at the University of Texas from 2003-2013 where she was able to combine her love for sports with her keen interest in performance nutrition. Sally is one of a select number of registered dietitians in the U.S. to be board certified as a sports dietitian (CSSD). She also specializes in weight challenges, eating disorders, cardiovascular and digestive nutrition issues. Sally has a special interest in the use of foods and supplements in helping the body heal from illness and maximizing energy levels.
Sally is very motivated to stay current with advanced nutrition training in each of the following specialty areas: sports nutrition, eating disorders, food sensitivities (she is a certified LEAP therapist, CLT), and functional/integrative nutrition. She has completed a certificate of training in integrative and functional nutrition from the IFNA Academy in 2016.
Sally is a native Austinite, she attended Westlake High School where she was the 4A State Singles Tennis Champion. Sally also played on the University of Texas Tennis team. Currently, she enjoys playing golf, traveling and dining out at Austin’s many fun restaurants. Sally’s extensive experience allows her to look at all aspects of her client’s life and provide the guidance and encouragement needed to help them achieve their goals. Sally was a consultant dietitian with Central Texas Nutrition Consultants for 20 years before starting her own private practice in Austin in June 2016.
